Parks and Recreation Department

Marlborough boasts an expansive Parks and Recreation Department, providing a plethora of activities. During the summer, the public beach, staffed daily by lifeguards, welcomes visitors. The city features two modern splash pads, each with restrooms, and numerous parks, including the Korean Veterans Field, a short 5-minute stroll from Chase Road. Beyond splash pads and the beach, there are public pools, including a wading pool for the little ones, all supervised by lifeguards with daily water testing to ensure safety. The well-maintained and marked Assabet River Trail links various communities to Marlborough and, upon completion, aims to connect to the South Acton MBTA station. For nature enthusiasts, the Lake Williams Trail offers a 1.5-mile loop, which includes over half a mile of floating boardwalk, boasting stunning scenic vistas. The Recreation Department also sponsors a diverse array of structured activities for children starting at the age of 3, all very affordably priced. Likewise, the Boys and Girls Club of Marlborough and Hudson delivers cost-effective childcare, summer camps, after-school care, and budget-friendly organized sports, including basketball. Our state-of-the-art library caters to every age group with a toddler zone, a kid's section, and an extensive adult area. The library encompasses reading and study spaces, computers (both kid's and adult's) available for use, and a wide selection of board games, video games, and of course, an abundance of books. Both access to the library and rentals are offered free of charge.

Entertainment

Apex Entertainment, approximately 5-minute drive from Chase Road has so much to offer including, bowling, arcades, indoor jungle gyms, trampoline park, planet fitness, ax throwing, arcade, indoor go-kart racing, swimming lessons and more. Nearby the Apex there are numerous restaurants, some of the local favorites include Welly’s, Wemmy’s and Funky Murphys. The neighboring community, Hudson recently redeveloped downtown, offers several restaurant options including Rail Trail, another staple in the area.
